Pixie Lott has admitted that she doesn’t listen to her own music.

The singer – who released her new self-titled album earlier this month – reasoned that it would be strange to listen to her own albums outside of performing them.

“I don’t really listen to any of my songs,” Lott told Digital Spy. “I think it would be a bit weird actually if I did. I don’t know if other artists do.

“I listen to my songs if I’ve just written and I have to pick if it’s gonna make it on the album obviously. And I listen to the songs on the album and make sure I’m 100% happy with them, but after that I wouldn’t sit there and play my songs.”

Pixie Lott will perform on the MTV Stage at V Festival in Chelmsford this afternoon (August 16), before playing at their Staffordshire site tomorrow.

Justin Timberlake and The Killers will headline this year’s V Festival, with further performances from Lily Allen, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Paolo Nutini.

Chart star Pixie Lott thrilled fans in Scotland yesterday as she arrived in Glasgow to sign copies of her self-titled new album.

The singer turned up at Glasgow’s Argyle Street HMV where hundreds of fans had queued for the chance to meet her.

As well as promoting her self-titled album, Pixie, 23, gave her support to Action For Children in Scotland.

She donated two signed guitars to the charity who run dozens of services to help families in crisis, children with disabilities and the homeless.

Pixie told The Razz: “I had my album launch on Tuesday and it went great so it was great to come up to Scotland and to be back in Glasgow for the album signing.

“I met people from the charity and signed a couple of guitars.

“I was asked if I could get involved and I said, of course. It’s great to be able to help out.”

Pixie handed over the instruments to Kimberly Wallace, Dominika Niziolek and Zabih Sibbiqi, all 18, who are young leaders with the charity.

Dominika said: “It was a great experience. It is one of my dreams to meet Pixie and because of Action For Children I got the chance.

“She gave me an autograph and a signed poster and CD.”

The guitars will be auctioned at Action For Children’s Gleneagles Golf Day on August 29, and the charity’s Never Mind The Business event on September 25 at Glasgow’s Hilton Hotel.

A spokesman said: “The guitars will raise vital funds for Action For Children Scotland who help more than 8000 young people and families.”

Next up for Pixie is V Festival in Chelmsford.

She said: “That’s going to be great because I go there every year and my family go. It’s going to be like a holiday.”
