Pixie Lott has said that she hopes Strictly Come Dancing judge Darcey Bussell will be impressed with her next dance.
The ‘Break Up Song’ singer received a six from Bussell, while the other three judges each awarded her jive with partner Trent Whiddon a seven.
Speaking on BBC Two’s It Takes Two, Lott admitted that she had not expected the panel to be as strict with their scoring on the opening weekend, telling host Zoe Ball that she thought they would focus on more “technical” elements in later weeks.
She and Whiddon began rehearsals of their waltz today, with the 23-year-old describing it as a “beautiful dance”.
Explaining that she hopes Bussell will be impressed, she said: “We really, really, really want to get it right,” adding that they “don’t want to let her down”.
Looking back at the jive, she described the opening routine as being “notoriously difficult”, revealing that she had been “freaking out” before it, which led to her suffering a little slip during a high kick which she had been “dreading”.
